中文 (中国)On the morning of October 9, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the Thai Binh Young Entrepreneurs Association and An Thai Automotive Engineering Co., Ltd. held the opening ceremony for the 2024 National Pickleball Championship for Clubs, competing for the Jogarbola Cup – Thai Binh Young Entrepreneurs – An Thái. The ceremony was attended by the following officials: Mr. Đặng Thanh Giang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyễn Quang Hưng, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders from various departments of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as other local government representatives.
From October 9-12, 2024, more than 350 athletes from 61 Pickleball clubs across 35 provinces and cities nationwide participated in the competition, which included both recreational and professional categories. Each category was divided into three age groups: Under 35, 35-49, and 50 and above.
This is the first national-level tournament, and hosting the event provides an opportunity for Thai Binh and local businesses to promote and introduce the land, people, and unique products of the province to friends across the country. It also helps boost the province’s economy and tourism while meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of the people. Additionally, the tournament will help identify and select outstanding athletes for the Vietnamese Pickleball team to compete in upcoming international events.
Pickleball, a sport recently introduced to Vietnam, has been gaining popularity across the country, with an increasing number of participants training, both nationwide and specifically in Thai Binh.
